Michel Roy is the founder and CEO of MFR Realty and Management Inc. Starting very early on in his life, Michel, at the age of 21, launched his career in real estate. He believed in finding a mentor who could teach him the business from the ground up. Michel began working for a small real estate development company, called Nu West , a Canadian owned Company. He worked his way up from assistant to Senior Vice President of the Parent Company all the way to President of the most profitable subsidiary. Ultimately, Michel oversaw every aspect of the business from Land Acquisition, selecting the development team, budgeting and scheduling development projects, city approvals, pre-leasing, construction, lease up and eventual disposition and sale.
Subsequently, and for another ten years, Michel sold commercial real estate for the largest privately held brokerage firm in the United States, Marcus and Millichap (M&M) where he grew from rookie real estate agent to the status of top agents nationwide. As one of the first agents in the firm to specialize in bank reo’s “repossessions,” Michel earned a reputation throughout the firm and in Southern California Brokerage and Investment Community as the “go to” person for everything relative to apartment sales ranging in size from 10-400 units, In addition to selling apartments, his experience extended to retail shopping centers, medical offices, office buildings, industrial and single tenant investments. Michel’s primary goal while working with M & M was to buy, own and manage his own portfolio of real estate. True to his desire, when he left the firm, he had acquired over 1,000 apartment units and several commercial properties.
Characterized as a very bright, likeable, solid and trustworthy professional, Michel currently manages a portfolio of single tenant investments, several hundred apartment units, medical office buildings and industrial throughout the United States. On a day to day basis, Michel furnishes investors with advice and consultations relative to property management, asset management, general consultation, asset allocation, asset re-positioning and real estate brokerage. Canadian born, Michel immigrated to Los Angeles in 1979. Michel has continued to expand his real estate education by attending various schools including UCLA where he studied marketing, law and accounting. He holds a California Real Estate Sales License.
